Department of Pharmacology


Pharmacology is science subject, which connects the other discipline of pharmaceutical science with medicine. SSRCP got its full-fledged, independent Pharmacology department. The   department has grown in Men and Material- Facility and infrastructure.

The department has three full fledged Laboratories are used for B.Pharm, M.Pharm-1 Practical and M.Pharm.-Il Research.

These labs have premier instruments for several drug evaluation procedures. Just to name a few, Plethysmometer, Analgesiometer, Eddy’s Hotplate, Convulsiometer, Actophotometer, Rota-Rod Apparatus, Cook’s pole climbing apparatus, and so on.

M. Pharm in Pharmaoclogy, two-year Programme designed to provide advanced training in various aspects of advanced pharmacology, Molecular biology, Pre-clinical and clinical drugs development and Pharmacotherapeutics. There are excellent experiments to be carried out in each of this area which equip the students with a skill for research. The department having a spacious, well-furnished and multi compartment animal house registered by CPCSEA Government of India. Animal house built as per CPCSEA guideline for housing small animal such as mice, rats, rabbit and guinea pig etc. for regular teaching to undergraduate, postgraduate studies and perform preclinical research. Institute have Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (AEC) approved by CPCSEA (Reg No: 1340/PO/Re/S/10/CPCSEA) for conducting animal based experiments
