Strategic Goals & Key Initiatives

1. Enhance Academic Excellence & Curriculum Development

Objective: To implement the curriculum of PCI and pedagogy to meet global standards and industry needs.
Initiatives: To identify the human resource skilled with emerging areas like AI in drug discovery, pharmacogenomics, regulatory affairs, and medical devices to teach to B.Pharm and M.Pharm students
Active Learning: Shift from traditional lectures to a blend of Problem-Based Learning (PBL), case studies, and flipped classrooms.
Skill Labs: Establish advanced simulation and communication labs to enhance practical and soft skills.
Feedback Mechanism: Implement a robust system for continuous feedback from students, alumni, and industry to regularly update course content.

2. Strengthen Research & Innovation (R&D)

Objective: To create a vibrant research culture and establish the college as a hub for pharmaceutical innovation.
Initiatives:
Centres of Excellence (CoE): Establish focused research centers in niche areas relevant to Silvassa’s industrial belt (e.g., Industrial Pharmacy, Novel Drug Delivery Systems). Industry-Linked Projects: Mandate at least one industry-sponsored live project for final-year and postgraduate students.
Publication & IPR: Incentivize high-impact publications and guide faculty/students on filing patents.

3. Foster Industry-Academia Integration

Objective: To ensure 100% employability and provide real-world exposure to students.
Initiatives:
MoUs with Pharma Companies: Forge strong partnerships with pharmaceutical units in and around Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli for internships, training, and guest lectures.
Advisory Board: Form an industry-led advisory board to guide curriculum and placement activities.
Live Workshops: Organize regular workshops and certification programs on GMP, GLP, and QA/QC by industry experts.
Dedicated Placement Cell: Strengthen the cell with a full-time placement officer to achieve 100% placement for eligible students.

4. Upgrade Infrastructure & Learning Resources

Objective: To provide state-of-the-art facilities that support advanced learning and research.
Initiatives:
Modern Labs: Upgrade pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, and pharmaceutics laboratories with modern equipment.
Digital Library: Subscribe to international e-journals (like Scopus, Web of Science), databases, and online learning platforms (Coursera, NPTEL).
Smart Classrooms: Equip all classrooms with digital smart boards and audio-visual aids.
Herbal Garden: Develop a medicinal plant garden to support pharmacognosy studies and research.

5. Promote Student Development & Leadership

Objective: To nurture well-rounded, confident, and socially responsible professionals.
Initiatives:
Clubs & Societies: Encourage active student chapters of professional bodies (IPA, APTI) and clubs for cultural, technical, and sports activities.
Soft Skills Training: Incorporate mandatory modules on communication, leadership, teamwork, and interview skills. Community Outreach: Regular health camps, awareness programs on rational drug use, and blood donation drives in Silvassa to instill a sense of social responsibility.
Alumni Network: Build a strong alumni network for mentorship, guest lectures, and placement opportunities.

6. Faculty Development & Empowerment

Objective: To build a team of highly qualified, motivated, and research-oriented faculty.
Initiatives:
FDPs & Conferences: Sponsor faculty to attend and present at national and international conferences and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs). Ph.D. Encouragement: Provide support and incentives for faculty pursuing doctoral studies.
Performance Linked Appraisal: Implement a fair system that rewards teaching innovation, research output, and administrative contributions.
Mentorship Program: Pair junior faculty with senior mentors for professional guidance.

Implementation & Monitoring Framework

Strategic Plan Committee: A committee comprising the Principal, HODs, senior faculty, industry representative, and student representative will be formed. Action Plans: Each initiative will be broken down into annual action plans with specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. Budget Allocation: A dedicated annual budget will be allocated to support the strategic initiatives.   Review Mechanism: Annual reviews will be conducted to track progress, address challenges, and make necessary adjustments to the plan.
