Department Of Pharmacognosy
The Department of Pharmacognosy deals with the study of drugs of natural origin. It involves study of physical, chemical, biological properties of drugs, drug substances of natural origin as well as the search for new drugs from natural sources. It involves study of the extraction, isolation and characterization of phytochemicals using different chromatographic and spectroscopic methods.

Infrastructure and List of Instruments & Equipments
Pharmacognosy laboratory is well equipped with high resolution microscope such as projection microscope and binocular microscope. Usage of such microscope assists in easy understanding of the microscopy of the crude drugs and easy dissemination of knowledge. The department is also supported with a medicinal garden with more than 50 different medicinal plants that are used for medicinal purpose.
